An updated and contemporary interpretation of the classic four-poster bed has served the furniture company JJP and Carlos Tíscar a German Design Award 2018 in the Excellent Product Design Furniture category, awarded to its single bed program NOOK.
Nook means hiding or recess and in this case it configures its own shelter, a personal microcosm inside the room itself. Is about a flexible, fully customizable and adaptable program to different lifestyles and interior design. Part of a robust and essential structure, in white or black, to which you can attach a series of practical furniture and accessories that make it a space for almost everything.
So Nook offers many of the features we need in our homes today, from led lighting, to integrated desks, going through accessories to hang clothes or even a specific module for video games. At the design level, the variety of small and useful optional accessories and the selection of fabrics for upholstered elements and curtains that help create different and suggestive atmospheres are surprising.
One of the strengths of the proposal is its ease of assembly; only one is needed Allen wrench, to which we are more than accustomed ... to assemble the structure and fix the accessories.
As for its inspiration, the project constitutes the particular tribute of Carlos Tíscar to the bed “Abitacolo”, by Bruno Murani, one of the great personalities of Italian design, which he had as a teacher in Milan. The result is a very complete bed and especially ideal for youth bedrooms.
