The Byko study has been in charge of the integral renovation of the rooms of the Hotel Kaktus Playa, located in the Maresme region. The main objective has been to provide the rooms with a urban and current style seeking maximum comfort for its guests, and HI-MACS® has been used for all the furniture and a backlit wallcovering protagonist of the interiors.
The Hotel Kaktus Playa, located in Calella de Mar on the Catalan coast, has modernized its rooms to guarantee a warmer and comforting stay for its guests. Currently the hotel has 226 rooms, and has services such as Spa, heated pool, restaurant or beach club.
The design of the rooms is Mediterranean inspired. For this, light tones have been used that provide spaciousness and luminosity, giving special importance to the large windows of the rooms. The layout and style of the rooms was a challenge for the team of architects and designers, since they had to create standard, modern spaces that would not be obsolete over time.
To achieve the welfare of the guests, a design was sought where smooth and continuous surfaces prevail, light colors and minimalist furniture that generate the feeling of a wider space. Interior designers only included as decorative elements cushions and a bedspread in turquoise and gray tones such as the blue of the beaches surrounding the hotel grounds and some plants on the outdoor terrace.Advertising
The furniture in the rooms has been made in HI-MACS® for its technical and aesthetic properties, from the bedside tables, the desk with built-in furniture that conceals the minibar to the headboard of the bed. He furniture made of acrylic stone LG Hausys is embedded in the wall to take up as little space as possible, since
He majestic headboard, has been made by superimposing several panels made of HI-MACS® evoking the waves of the sea, has become the undisputed protagonist in some rooms. The thermoformable properties of the acrylic stone of LG Hausys offer designers a wide range of shapes, which give rise to pieces of enormous dimensions from smaller ones, which as a result grant a set with great versatility.
Looking for maximum amplitude in the room it was decided to create an open space in which the bathroom was included in the room. With this objective, a valavabo is built into the countertop and suspended in the air that follows the amplitude line for all rooms. Looking to maintain the privacy of guests, both the shower and the bathroom, are in a closed space with opaque glass doors, but that is fully integrated with the rest of the room.
This project of integral reform of the rooms has been carried out thinking about the well-being of the clients, so that they relax and enjoy pleasant days of rest and well-being. With this in mind, designers have equipped every last detail each of the terraces of the rooms, giving them a Chill-Out style as you can see in the photos of this article.
